We spent the 4th of July at "the cottage" - Megan's Uncle's cottage on a lake in Indiana. Megan went there every year or two as a kid and we hope to continue that tradition because it is a pretty amazing experience!!! There are boats and water toys that you can't even imagine like a Lilly pad foam walkway, a floating trampoline, and inflatable motorized jet skis that Gavin was able to drive by himself. This year I had to change my expectations because the new environment really put the kids on edge. They usually jump in pools by themselves and swim under water with complete comfort. At the lake they wouldn't touch the ground, put their head in, or jump in! After a couple days they eased into some of these things but clearly things like tubing and jet skiing with an adult were not going to happen. However the kids had a blast with their cousins (second cousins or something) who are around their age. They all had a tea party, played games together and just imitated each other. I look forward to watching them grow up together.
With cousins Moira (4), Celia (almost 3), and Tessa (2 months).
Grandma and Grandpa were there, and Ronald McDonald too!!
Ferry ride
Cousins relaxing
This was the only time we could get them to tube.
A tea party with ice skating costumes (and a towel cape for Gavin)
One of Kayla's jet ski naps
Lunch at the kids table
Kayla loves babies and was constantly kissing Tessa, until one time she bit her!
Gavin driving the boat
again and again!
Kayla didn't even care that she couldn't see
