We took the kids to the kite festival this weekend and I think it will become an annual activity. We had a lot of fun trying to fly our kite, looking at other kites, people watching, and eating festival food. We only had a couple of kites hit us in the head :)
You can see one of the huge, competition kites in the background. We didn't last long enough to see the competition due to naps.
Uncle Colin might have enjoyed flying the kite more than the kids.
Kayla wasn't scared like the picture shows, she just didn't understand our requests to turn around for a picture.
It was hard to find a place to fly a kite with all of this traffic! But what a beautiful day, and the wind was perfect too.
All the kites that got stuck in the tree. Ours survived.
But the kids didn't survive the full day. Maybe next year they will be ready to skip a nap for fun events like this.
