Christmas in Las Cruces

Gavin and I just got back from 10 days with Grandma and Grandpa in Las Cruces (Chris drove down for a few days but had to go back early for work). It was a great break and Gavin loved all the new places to explore. We took Gavin hiking with Uncle Colin, Aunt Jenn, and Grandpa sledding on the sand dunes at White Sands, and to lots of restaurants.

Gavin got spoiled with gifts, including these cute cowboy boots. He was sleeping every time we wanted him to open his presents so we finally did it right before bed on Christmas night. Chris had to take all the presents home with him the next morning so Gavin is just getting to play with them now.

Gavin had an ear infection that lasted for 2 weeks and after the 2nd antibiotic it seems to be clearing up. The doctor said the ear infection was probably caused by his cold that started before Thanksgiving so that means this one cold has affected him for about 6 weeks now!! I am so glad that is over (although I'm sure another will come along any day now). He also seems to be teething - we can't see anything yet but he sure is chomping on things and rubbing things on his gums (and oragel is helping his fussiness so I guess he was in pain too). Here is a picture of him with his 6 different kinds of medication and his 49 bibs (we kept buying more bibs to find the perfect ones that wick the moisture away from his chin AND have plastic backings to keep it from soaking his shirts).
